Grógaldr (Old Norse = 'Gróa's magical chant') is a very late Eddic lay which together with the Fjǫlsvinnsmál is called Svipdagsmál in the Poetic Edda.
It tells about the hero Svipdagr who seeks advice from his dead mother Gróa concerning his dangerous journey to woo his bride Menglǫð. Gróa tells him nine magical charms against various dangers. [1]
