Greenlandic Mythology

  • The legend about Kâgssagssuk and Kamigdlánguaĸ in West Greenland is similar to the legend about Alorugtaĸ in East Greenland. Kâgssagssuk must suffer excessively before he - through the mediation of Pissaap Inua - gains supreme strength and subdues his tormentors. Pissaap Inua twists Kâgssagssuk around his huge tail and whirls him around to the extent that, that which prevents his growth is hurled away in the form of children's toys. [1]
