The (Spanish) name of the brightest star in the constellation Lyra.

It derives from Arabic waqi = 'falling', which is an abbreviation of its full name an-nasr al-waqui = 'the falling eagle' as opposed to Altair, the brightest star in the constellation Aquila: at-ta'ir = 'flying eagle' [1] [2]
