Hvergelmir (Old Norse 'bubbling cauldron'?) is the name of the spring in Niflheimr and the source of the Élivágar rivers. It is also the spring under the world-tree Yggdrasill. The other springs near Yggdrasill are Urðarbrunnr and Mimisbrunnr, but they seem to be only one spring. The dragon Níðhǫggr lives in the spring. The last part of the name is related to GALM.
