Latinised Names

To Latinise a Nordic or Germanic name, people used to add typical Latin endings:

Male Names

• -us: Olav -> Olavus
• -o: Vigge -> Viggo

Female Names

• -a: Ingigerth -> Ingertha
• -is: Adalhaid -> Adalhaidis

Another possibility was to just switch to a typical Latin name which sounded a bit like the Nordic one: Estrid -> Esther
