Female Names

• Elfríð: This Icelandic form of Elfrid was approved.
• Hanný: This Icelandic spelling of Hanny was approved.
• Lauf: This Icelandic vocabulary word for 'leaf' was now approved as a unisex name.
• Salomína: This Icelandic spelling of Salomina was approved.
• Salvía: This Icelandic spelling of Salvia was approved.
• Vana: This name was already used in Old Norse. Now it was approved to be used in Iceland as well.

Male Names

• Birningur: This younger form of the Old Norse name Birningr was now approved to be used as a given name in Iceland.
• Elio: This name had been rejected in Iceland in 2008 but was approved now on 7 October 2022.
• Lauf: This Icelandic vocabulary word for 'leaf' was now approved as a unisex name.
