Œgishjálmr (sometimes written Ægishjálmr; Old Norse œgishjálmr = 'frightening helmet') is the name of Sigurðr's helmet in Nordic heroic poetry. Sigurðr removes it from the dragon Fáfnir after he has killed him. Previously it had belonged to Fáfnir's father Hreiðmarr. [1]
